IDF troops and border police arrested 14 Palestinian suspects during raids across the West Bank Wednesday night. The detainees were suspected of having taken part in violent protests with troops.
Six of the suspects were arrested in the Nur Shams refugee camp and two nearby villages in the northern West Bank. Another six were from central West Bank, and the remaining two suspects were arrested in the southern West bank, including one near Bethlehem.
Overnight IDF arrest raids in the West Bank have stepped up as military officials attempt to head off what they fear may be an uptick in violence during the Jewish holiday season.
In their crackdown on illegal arms manufacturing and weapons smuggling in the West Bank and Israel, soldiers confiscated gun parts and pipe bombs in the West Bank raids.
Suspects were transferred for questioning by security forces.
