Top of the news:

Tension in the South: The Iron Dome system intercepted a missile shot from the Sinai territory to Eilat. One rocket fell in open territory. The IDF attacked southern Gaza. Two terrorists were killed and five wounded in an attack on a tunnel. An ISIS related media outlet praised the rocket attack on Eilat.

Israel News:

Flights between Israel and Shanghai are being renewed after a 4 year break.

Eight terrorists were captured in Judea and Samaria last night.

Housing shortage: Interior minister Aryeh Deri and Housing Minister Moshe Kachlon agreed on the development of a Haredi town next to Kiryat Gat. It will have 10,000 units and be on land in Moshav Uza in the Shapir regional council. All the units will be marketed through the “Price to Dweller” subsidy system.

Haifa: The court in Haifa put an order for the immediate closure of the ammonia tanks as requested by the Haifa municipality.  

Bnei Brak: A worker fell from a high place in a store. He was taken to Ichilov hospital in critical condition.

Government to Supreme Court: “There is no personal or political relationship between Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit and Prime Minister Netanyahu. Therefore there is no reason for Mandelblit not to handle the current investigations against Netanyahu.

Israel Prize for Music: Was awarded to Professor Aryeh Vardi for his great contribution to music and his artistic achievements.

Tiberius: A young woman was injured when boating on the Kinneret. She was taken to the hospital with a critically injured hand.

World news:

U.S.: The commander of military forces in Iraq claims that he foresees the freeing of Iraq and Syria from ISIS strongholds in the next 6 months.

Officially terror: The White House is weighing putting the Moslem Brotherhood and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard into the list of terror organizations.

Nasrallah’s deputy:  “Hezbollah is not withdrawing from Lebanon. We are prepared to fight with Israel.”

The Mexican wall: Trump is fighting in court on behalf of building the wall. He claimed: “Building the wall helps; ask Israel.”

The Russian opposition leader won’t be able to run against Putin as he was charged with misappropriation of funds.

A European survey shows most Europeans oppose accepting Muslim Immigrants.

Economy:

The El-Al strike is over. The El-Al pilots group announced that they have come to agreements with the company management.

Bad news for small Israeli businesses:  The President of the Chamber of Independent Organizations and Businesses announced 2016 statistics and they are not encouraging. 43,000 businesses closed down and 1,000 declared bankruptcy.

Security:

The murderer of 7 Israeli girls will be free after 20 years in prison. The muderer, a Jordanian soldier in 1997 opened fire on a group of girls on a school trip in Naharyim at the Jodanian border, killing 7 girls and wounding 6. He is set to go free after 20 years in prison.

15 years in prison was sentenced to a Palestinian that stabbed a Jew in Jerusalem last year.

Politics:

Abu Mazen denounces regulation law: He called it “Theft of occupied captured lands”. Germany joined the denouncement saying: “we are disappointed with this Israeli step”.

Israel  was absent from UN vote against Syria in order to give no credence to the status of the UN.

A senior Hamas spokesman said: “A few countries approached us asking for information about the missing Israeli captive soldiers.He claimed the countries expressed Israel’s commitment to honoring an upcoming deal.

Russian Ambassador to Israel promises: “We promised that none of our weapons will reach the Hezbollah.”

Nasrallah’s deputy in an interview said: “Everything related to Israel and our reckoning with it in southern Lebanon and the Golan-The Hezbollah is not interested in calming down Israel, nor to allay its fears.” He added; “We are prepared to pay the price of our conflict”.

Judaism:

The Victory of Shabbat: The heads of the Yuvalim Council accepted the recommendation of the deputy mayor of Jerusalem that they won’t conduct activities on Shabbat.

Israel Weather: Temperatures are dropping back to seasonal levels. It will be partly cloudy with the possibility of scattered showers in northern and central Israel.

Friday: Clear to partly cloudy. Temperatures going up slightly.

Shabbat:  Light local rains in northern and central Israel. Rains will strengthen toward the evening.

Sunday: Temperatures will drop below normal for the season with intermittent rain from northern Israel to the northern Negev region. There is a chance of flooding in eastern Israel and the possibility of thunderstorms.
