The hard-nosed New York cops are known for catching terrorists and criminals and handing out speeding tickets, but at least a few also have a light-hearted side to them.
A religious girl and her date were going for a ride in the young man’s car in the Far Rockaway neighborhood, when they were abruptly pulled over by 3 police officers in a police van with a rotating light. They demanded that they couple open their trunk so they could check it for weapons and drugs.
The shocked girl got out with her date, and watched the officers open the trunk.
Instead of weapons, the young man pulled out of the trunk flowers and balloons and proposed to her.
To her relief, the officers were off-duty and had agreed to stage the show as a favor to one of the young man’s friends.
