FBI Sends Message: Hillary Clinton Should Not Face Criminal Charges

FBI Director James Comey said Sunday that the agency has not changed its opinion after reviewing Democratic presidential candidate Hilary Clinton’s recently discovered emails in an unrelated case.  His conclusion in July not to prosecute Clinton after the original FBI’s investigation into her use of private email server still stands.
Comey said on Sunday in a follow-up letter to Congress that, “Since my letter, the FBI investigative team has been working around the clock to process and review a large volume of emails that were to or from Hilary Clinton as secretary of state. Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusion.”

His statement comes several days after informing Congress that the FBI had discovered emails in its separate investigation of Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin. The investigation could be connected to the possibility of Clinton mishandling classified information by using a private email server.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, meanwhile, commented, “Hillary Clinton will be under investigation for a long long time, likely concluding in an indictment.”
