Calls for Pardoning Elor Azarya

Reactions to Elor Azarya’s verdict:

Treasury Minister Moshe Kachlon said: “Now that the legal processes are finished we can and should work to grant Azarya a pardon.”

Former Defense Minister Yaalon: “I hope that Elor and his family will make a wise decision and apply for pardoning. I’m convinced their request won’t fall on deaf ears.”

Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman: “Even someone who doesn’t like the verdict still need to accept it and the defense establishment should stand in support of the soldier and his family.”  

Israel news:

Beer Sheba: A 60 year old man died in a fire in a residential apartment. A young woman was slightly injured from smoke inhalation.

The “Sabon Shel Paam” Company (Soap like it used to be) recalled body creams and exfoliation creams for fear that they may contain glass shards. Consumers that purchased these items can return them to stores.

Politics:

Tzachi Hanegbi is the new substitute appointment   as Minister of communications for three months.

Knesset dress code: After the uproar in the Knesset when women came into the Knesset not properly dressed it was decided that the Knesset dress code will stay as established and people can only enter if properly dressed according to all rules.

Security:

The Egyptian Border Patrol discovered a tunnel under the border between Gaza and Egypt.

World news:

Trump stated that “anti-Semitism is horrible and has to stop”, in response to the vandalism of a Jewish graveyard near St. Louis.

The Egyptian president and king of Jordan publicized a declaration that says: “the two state solution to resolve the Palestinian conflict is not up for negotiation.”

Israel weather:

Wednesday:  Partly cloudy with possible showers in southern and eastern Israel.

Thursday: Clear to partly cloudy with no change in temperature.

Friday: Will be pleasant and temperatures will rise slightly.
