Chanukah = Finding Your Match!

Even if you’ve tried everything don’t give up! Chanukah is a time of salvation and with a bit of effort in your prayers you can merit your own personal salvation and find yourself under the Chuppa (wedding canopy) with your soulmate! Here are three Segulot, spiritual remedies.

Segula I:

Every evening after lighting the Chanukah candles you should recite Psalm 30, 3 times. The verses highlighted should be said with more intense concentration.(See  Psalm 30 below) After finishing your recital 3 times put 3 coins in a charity box and make the following request: “In the merit of this charity, please Master of the World remove all hindrances from my path and speedily bring me to meet my soul mate and it should be clear to both of us that this is our true match.”

Psalm 30 with translation courtesy of Chabad.org

1 A psalm; a song of dedication of the House, of David.
2 I will exalt You, O Lord, for You have raised me up, and You have not allowed my enemies to rejoice over me.
3 O Lord, I have cried out to You, and You have healed me.
4 O Lord, You have brought my soul from the grave; You have revived me from my descent into the Pit.
5 Sing to the Lord, His pious ones, and give thanks to His holy name.
6 For His wrath lasts but a moment; life results from His favor; in the evening, weeping may tarry, but in the morning there is joyful singing.
7 And I said in my tranquility, “I will never falter.”
8 O Lord, with Your will, You set up my mountain to be might, You hid Your countenance and I became frightened.
9 To You, O Lord, I would call, and to the Lord I would supplicate.
10 “What gain is there in my blood, in my descent to the grave? Will dust thank You; will it recite Your truth?
11 Hear, O Lord, and be gracious to me; O Lord, be my helper.”
12 You have turned my lament into dancing for me; You loosened my sackcloth and girded me with joy.
13 So that my soul will sing praises to You and not be silent. O Lord, my God, I will thank You forever.

Segula II:

After lighting Chanukah candles on Friday afternoon (before sundown) ask G-d: “Hashem, please grant me to build a complete home.” From the (Admor of Slonim)
If you’ve met someone for a match more than 3 times and then the match was called off you should say the Shma Yisrael Prayer once in the daytime and once at night before retiring to sleep. Before saying the Shma, say the following with a lot of devotion: “Master of the World! I forgive all those who may have angered me!” Then ask G-d to remove every hindrance from your way. When a person truly forgives the whole world, the Holy One Blessed be He brings about that everyone should forgive him. (Rabbi Avraham Cohen based on the teachings of Rabbis Yosef and Yaakov Abuchatzeira)

Segula III:

After Chanukah, gather the wicks of a few Chanukah menorahs together and light them all up. At that time, pray from the depths of your heart for your match. This is a Segula for getting married this year!

May the light of Chanuka bring the light of happiness to our single men and women, who will merit to marry and build homes together this year!
