On Monday, Gavriel Sasson dedicated a visitor’s room at the King David Shrine on Mt. Zion, Jerusalem in memory of his 7 children who died in a fire two years ago in their home in Brooklyn.
When Sasson lit seven candles in their memory, the audience was brought to tears.
Rabbi Mordechai Goldstein, the rosh yeshiva of the Diaspora Yeshiva, who has control of the compound where the shrine is located, was honored with affixing of the mezuza on the door.
The visitor’s room, that will serve the many thousands who visit the site, will provide them with hot and cold refreshments.
