ISIS Claims Responsibility for London Terror Attack

On Monday night ISIS claimed responsibility for the Saturday night attacks in London. In the multi-pronged attack 7 people were killed and 48 injured 20 of them critically injured. London police say they know the identities of the terrorists and will soon publicize them. 12 suspects were arrested so far. The Israeli interior ministry says there is no knowledge of any Israelis being among the victims.

World leaders expressed outrage at the terror attack and called to offer assistance. President Donald Trump addressed the issue and wrote: “We need to be smart, vigilant and tough. We need the courts to give us back our rights. We need the Travel Ban as an extra level of safety! Whatever the United States can do to help out in London and the U. K., we will be there – WE ARE WITH YOU. GOD BLESS!”  Trump was alluding to his intention to ban travel from Muslim countries to the states which was struck down by the Supreme Court and he hopes to reinstate in a different variation that won’t be struck down by the courts.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a message to Prime Minister Theresa May saying: “The build-up of joint efforts to fight forces of terror all over the world should become the common answer on what happened.”

France President Emanuel Macron said there were French victims in the attack and said the following: “France is more than ever at the United Kingdom's side. My thoughts are with the victims and their families.”

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she stands with determination alongside Britain. “Today we are united in fear and sadness but at the same time with determination. Germany stands by Britain’s side in fighting terror.”

Though the attack was not focused on the Jewish community there is great tension and high alert in Jewish areas. The head of the London Bet Din Rabbi Menachem Gelly told the Yated Neeman paper: “Though the attack wasn’t aimed at Jews it is part of world terror aimed at innocent people. We have only the skills of our fathers which is to pray to the King who peace belongs to bring the redeemer to Zion and from there peace will come to the entire world.”
