While the Israeli Supreme Court has ordered the State to vacate Amona and throw 40 Jewish families off of land where they have lived for 30 years because it is ostensibly owned by Arabs, Arabs all over Area C in the territories are freely building on land that is not theirs without almost any opposition from Israel. Their efforts to steal the land has been assisted and funded by the European Union.
Now MK Oded Forer (Yisrael Beytenu) has now proposed a law removing illegal Palestinian building from the list of internationally immune activities, in an attempt to stop the illegal Palestinian building in Area C.
He explained, “The Immunity Law helps foreign countries anchor their rights and prevent themselves from being sued for various actions. I am proposing an amendment to the Foreign Immunity Law, clarifying that the immunity does not extend to illegal building. No one will be able to claim we can't touch the buildings because they have immunity.” He plans to submit the proposal soon.
Area C is under complete Israeli civil and security control and its future is to be decided in a final peace agreement. All Jewish towns in Judea and Samaria are built in Area C while only 4% of Palestinian Arabs live there. The reason the EU is supporting illegal Palestinian construction there is their hope to create facts on the ground of a large Palestinian population to increase pressure on Israel to give back all of Judea and Samaria.
If Forer's law passes, Israeli authorities would be able to sue the EU for illegally building Palestinian Arab structures in Area C. Forer's proposed law will affect both new buildings as well as retroactively affect those already built.
