New York City Police reported that 406 people called 911 to report suspicious packages within less than two days after the Chelsea explosion in Manhattan.
None of the packages turned out to contain explosives.
In the Chelsea terrorist attack, more than two dozen people were injured by a pressure-cooker bomb packed with shrapnel that was set up by terrorist Ahmad Khan Rahami.
Despite the strain this puts on the police to investigate each package, Police Commissioner James O’Neill said he wants New Yorkers to report what they see.
